Cheryl Pitzer, a friend and ambassador to Aviation for Humanity, brought supplies to Puerto Rico to aid those affected by Hurricane Maria.
Here is her story:
“My name is Cheryl Pitzer and I am an MD11 Captain at FedEx Express based in Memphis. I was fortunate to be scheduled on a hurricane relief flight to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. FedEx donated the aircraft, and the relief supplies were donated by the Rick Martin Foundation. Ricky and his team rode on the aircraft with us. I was amazed by the deep compassion he has for his country. When I offered 20 backpacks on behalf of Aviation for Humanity he expressed genuine gratefulness and had a huge smile on his face! His team even picked a specific city the bags would go to best use and added them to the truck going to that city.
It turns out Ricky is also an aviation buff. He was so excited to spend some time in the cockpit. Some of the most fun passengers I have carried!”
A big “thank you” to Cheryl for her humanitarian aid and support in creating a global community established through the network of aviation.
